
Global humanitarian organization War Child Canada hosted its 2023 gala, The World That’s Possible on December 6th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto. It was for a worthy cause: supporting the millions of children and families affected by war and violence in Yemen, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sudan, and South Sudan.
Entertainment:
It was emceed by Canadian TV personality Sangita Patel. The great entertainment included comedian and actor Martha Chaves, and singer- songwriters Whitehorse, Donovan Woods, Aysanabee, and Aiza.
Awards:
The Gala honoured three award recipients: The Tragically Hip and Jake Gold with War Child’s Founder’s Award; Victor G. Dodig, President and CEO of CIBC, with the Changemaker Award; and Peter Gilgan, Chairman and CEO of Mattamy Asset Management with the Philanthropy Award.
